Question About Dual Monitors

So i have two monitors. One is connected to my video card and because I currently do not have a vga to dvi-i adapter, i have to connect my other monitor to motherboard. But the problem is that the monitor connected to motherboard is not working. What should i do?

get a DVI-I to VGA adapter.

On some motherboards the on-board video is disabled when a video card is installed in the PCIe 16x slot.
