Question about error code in BG2

Archived from groups: alt.games.baldurs-gate (More info?)

I am using the Mac version, but PC people might know this too. I am trying
to go to the Temple district, but each time I click on it, it saves my game,
and during loading it crashes and gives me the following error:

"An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 10828"

What does that mean? And is there any way to correct this without
reinstalling the game again? Thanks.

Maybe the area file of the temple district is corrupt. Close BG2 and locate
the cache folder in the BG2 folder. Delete all files in it and retry.
