Question about Google groups and this newsgroup

Hi. I am currently using my Outlook Express 6 to participate in this
newsgroup.
Like most of you, I use a SPAM notice in my e-mail.

I signed up for Google groups. If I use that, do I need to bother to mask
the e-mail or is it safer with Google groups and not needed?

I have been using google to read the newsgroups, and I don't get to see
people's complete email addresses. Kind of a PITA if you ask me. I'm
not sure if people using other news readers can see the originating
email address from something posted with google.. Maybe somebody
reading this can confirm whether or not they can see my email address?

Your address is completely legible, as your nick is your e-mail address.. and
when replying, it shows up in full.

That's the problem with posting via google groups - it deceives you into
thinking your e-mail address is obscured, but anybody reading with a normal
newsreader can see it with no problem. And you know what that means.. spambots
which cull usenet on a regular basis are pulling your address in with the
greatest of ease. : (

no wonder i get so much spam at this address the yahoo spam filter
does a decent job of setting it aside, though.
