So, I recently upgraded from a 970 to an EVGA 1070 SC ACX 3.0. I was a bit surprised with the idle temperatures; they're a bit higher than I'd like at about 60 C, and around 70 C under intensive load (around 100%). I know the SC model from EVGA uses a fan curve designed to start the fans when the card reaches above 60 C, and increase in order to keep the card at a stable 67-73 C. I'm fine with the higher temps when in game (70 C isn't likely to damage the card in any great fashion) but I was wondering if I could make a slightly more aggressive curve so that it would keep the idle temps closer to ~40-50 C. I tried running the Unigine Heaven Benchmark, once with no custom fan speed (the default) and again with the fan running at a constant 43%. The clock speeds were (expectedly) the same, and the temperatures were about 10-15 C in difference, favoring the contant 43% fan speed. So, how might I change the fan curve in EVGA Precision X OC to make it more aggressive in terms of when the fans start?

Solution
Just press the "fan curve" button

"Auto" needs to be checked.

The UI is pretty bad, but to find the options menu pertaining to fans press the arrow twice.

and click "Fan"
From there check "ENABLE AUTOMATIC FAN CONTROL"
Change other settings the way you want. I would recommend a temperature hysteresis of 2 and speed update period of 2000 ms, so that the fan doesn't need to change it's speed every damn millisecond if the temp changes a lot, as it tends to do while gaming.
