Does Gpu-z display the true specs it records from your actual graphics card, or does it simply copy the "Lookup" specs from the Tech PowerUp website once it sees the GPU you have?

Solution
Well, I'm stumped.
Gpu-Z has to be looking at the vbios directly - the Techpowerup database doesn't have all gpu vbioses on file; the users have to voluntarily upload their bios info to that site.

Take this list of vbioses for Msi's 2080 Super: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios...080+Super&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since=
Plus this list of them if you scroll down: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-rtx-2080-super-gaming-x-trio.b7197
What's missing/hasn't been validated from the vbios list?
-Aero
-Sea Hawk EK X
-Sea Hawk X
-Ventus
-Ventus XS
