Does Gpu-z display the true specs it records from your actual graphics card, or does it simply copy the "Lookup" specs from the Tech PowerUp website once it sees the GPU you have?
Well, I'm stumped.
Gpu-Z has to be looking at the vbios directly - the Techpowerup database doesn't have all gpu vbioses on file; the users have to voluntarily upload their bios info to that site.
I don't think so.
As you can see, GPU shark reports the GPU as a GK106 while GPUZ still thinks it is a GK104. Not to mention the ROPs, TMUs, etc being different. The old Asus GTX 660 I'm using for this test is one I know is a variation on the retail card. I happen to know it is not a GK104, for example.
