Hello i have asked this question before and i think i posted this but i dont think it went up....kinda new to the forum. Anyway i have a standard question witch i cant seem to figure out on my own. my build is very good exept one thing. my CPU is trash here is my build

Graphics: GTX 780 Ti
CPU: AMD A6-3600(over clocked)
RAM: 8 GB

now with this build i struggle to squeak out 30 fps on almost any game i play unless i put the graphics down to like low.....well the point of buying my 780 ti is to run on high or ultra.....now the question is. can my cpu be responsible for the fps problems or is my brand new 780 ti need to be returned?

Solution
One way to make sure that it is in fact is the cpu is monitor the usage while you are in game...
Watch your cpu usage in game and if 1 core or all cores peak up close to 100% then it is a dead giveaway that your cpu is holding you back

And if you have a 780ti then my opinion is it is most likely your cpu

Using that GPU with that CPU is comparable to pushing a bowling ball through a garden hose. The CPU just doesn't have enough throughput to allow a 780Ti to even come close to it's potential. You definitely have a CPU bottleneck. Something like an i5 or an i7 would be much better suited to supporting a GPU like that.

yea i figured that it was a pretty bad bottle neck but i hate to call a bottleneck before i get a second opinion

wow didnt know that a cpu could hinder a gpu that much thanks!
