Question about Hz and connection type

I have a LG 22MB35PY-I.

I was looking up the specs and it says it supports 56 - 61 Hz through DP and 56 - 75 Hz through DVI.

I use the DP and was wondering why it doesn't support 75 Hz but a DVI connection will. Isn't DP better than DVI?

You might find that the 75hz is at a lower than 1080p resolution, such as 720p.
