Hello, i have q. About i5-4690 , can i use Z97 Pro4 motherboard? Or like Z97-A , i know that i5-4690 is non K version which is not overclockable. But in future i can buy a new CPU that uses K version and my MB will be great for that.

The main Q,
Can i do combo with 4690 and Z97 Motherboard? I like the Pro4, or mybe Z97-A.
Does it sounds good?

P.s i already looked at H97 Pro4, but i want to be sure, that mybe in future i will buy another CPU with K version.

Solution

Yes you use the 4690 with a z97 mobo, but if you dont want to overclock there's not point to get it,instead grab a h97 mobo.

well i was searching a lot today... Was going a lot of forums.. Tech etc ... And i think why do i even want a K version if , i dont ever use Overclock, because im not that person which likes to playing with voltages and cooling.. I have EVO Hyper 212 but, eh dont know. Just was thinking saving money for SSD SAMSUNG EVO 850 (250GB) .. dunno.

That why i asking if i can use Z97 Motherboard on non K version.
