Hello,
I am just wondering if this is normal for idle temp. I know there is no exact idle temp but when im just sitting on desktop watching my task manager and HW monitor i notice once and a while it will go from sitting at 34-35c to 45-47c for a second and then drop back down. Is this normal for it to do once and a while? Thank you :)

my cpu jumps between 32 degrees and 48 degrees quite often its perfectly normal its like a car going up a steep hill the revs might rise because it needs more power to get to the top same with the cpu it needs more power to complete tasks

So even if it's sitting on a fresh desktop screen with nothing else...it could still be running something in the background even tho nothing's opened so that temp change is normal baumy?

There really are only two ways heat spikes in processors occur. One is when the processor workload increases and it generates more heat. Typically a CPU utilization monitor such as CPU-Z should show the increase. The other way is if the cooling system stops removing heat. This is not probable and would indicate an intermittent defect in the cooling system. Highly unlikely, unless you have a cooling profile that switches off at low temps and then kicks in when the temperature rises, only to reduce the temperature below the activation point - a highly unlikely and improbable scenario.

It is 100% normal, if you observe the rpms of the fan on your heat sink you will notice it staying at one low speed and then when you get some random update check that does it in the background, all programs with auto updates installed are always saying to the server hey do you have an update for me and that does put a light but very quick load on your processor. So the fan on your heat sink doesn't adjust fast enough to keep that consistent temperature with that less than a second load. If you monitor your network with wireshark you will see stuff on your computer asking for updates and causing some quick cpu usage every so often.
