Question about i7-6800k

So say if i install a gtx 980 and it does die down the line and since the i7-6800k doesnt have any video outputs since it doesnt have integrated graphics so if the gpu does die can i just take it out and put in a substitute gpu? Without having anyproblems since the gtx 980 drivers would still be installed or is it just that i wont be able to use it at all untill i get another gtx 980 to be able to install a new gpu

You'll be able to install any GPU as a replacement, but if you plan to use the new GPU for an extended period of time all you have to do is remove the old drivers and install the drivers for the new GPU.
