Hi, I have a dell laptop purchased new from Dell and I was thinking about changing the HDD to a SSD. The thing is it never came with a disc for Windows 10 (I think it originally came with 8 but asked me if I'd like to use Windows 10 which upgraded itself at first startup). So I called Dell and they said I can pay $20 for a disc of windows. My first question is, is there another way I can get a free copy of Windows 10 from Microsoft because I already have it? My second question is are there any good tutorials out there with instructions on how to install a SSD in my laptop? I think I can figure out unscrewing the back plate and unplug HDD/plug SSD but when it comes to start up I will most likely be a bit lost. Any help would be great.

Thx

go for 850evo ssd's they are the best. I'm using 120gb 850evo for os + 1tb samsung hdd(replacing DVD drive via caddy) for storage. Don't go for 750 series they have reliability issues. Also controller is the main thing in SSD's so be careful of cheap ssd like kingston(worst). 850 have rapid mode so they are faster than any other ssd out there.
