I saw a video LinusTechTips did a while ago using an Intel Optane Cache drive to boost his secondary 12TB hard drive to have SSD like performance, and it looks really cool and all. But when I found out that it's only meant to boost your boot drive, I got very confused. Linus mentioned in his video that Intel had added support for secondary drives, but other sources I'm reading is telling me otherwise. Could anyone help me out?

Solution
Early iteration of Optane would only work with the boot drive.
Later, it now can work with other drives.

It is simply a high speed cache for an HDD. It does NOT speed up the whole drive...only that data which resides in the 16GB or 32GB cache space.
