Question about LAN party

This is our first lan party and we have 7 people (7 PC's involved) and we have 2 switches with each 4 ports. My question is if its possible to make a network with these switches without connecting them to the internet. Second question is how I could do this.

well first off you don't have enough ports. those two switches will need to be plugged into each other which takes up a port on each leaving you with total of 6 ports left to use for 7 people.

Putting that aside, would plugging them all in the connected switches make a LAN connection by default? Like, without issues?

It's been so long since I've done a LAN party, especially with just switches, I don't remember for sure. I'm think that without a router to assign internal IP address you'll have to manually setup each computer with a different IP address all on the same subnet so they can talk to each other. Frankly its probably a lot easier for one of you to just bring their home router with them.

So just assigning "192.168.0.x" with the X variating from "1" to "n" for amount of people would work if we all have the same subnet?

Using a router without the WAN port connected to anything will provide a DHCP server and prevent having to use static IPs.
