Hello, had a question about compatibility for my laptop power cord.

My laptop power cord no longer works and I contacted my manufacturer about a replacement. The person I spoke to said that the specific power cord had been discontinued. They recommended I buy another power cord from them with the same voltage but a different wattage output than my original: 19.5Voltage output on both, but 150Wattage output (new) vs 135Wattage output (original). I don't know much about electronics, though I had been cautioned about mixing laptop chargers. The customer service person I spoke with said there was no risk in this case, but I thought I'd check with some people who aren't trying to sell me something - is it okay to use a laptop charger with a different wattage in this case? Will it cause problems? Should I not worry about it?

(Computer is an MSI Laptop and model is GL63 8RC)

Thanks for your time.

Solution
Any OEM laptop charger with a voltage of 19.5V and at least 135W will do the job.

It's like you are buying a 1000W PSU for your desktop while you know that the desktop is likely to use 750W or so.
