I was looking at the Asus Rog crosshair VII hero x470 and saw this under the m.2 section
AMD Ryzen 2nd Generation/Ryzen 1st Generation Processors
- M.2_1 Socket 3 with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (PCIE 3.0 x4 and SATA modes) storage devices support
- M.2_2 Socket 3 with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 (PCIE 3.0 x4) storage devices support
AMD Ryzen with Radeon Vega Graphics Processors*
- M.2_1 Socket 3 with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (PCIE 3.0 x4 and SATA modes) storage devices support
AMD 7th Generation A-series/Athlon Processors*
- M.2_1 Socket 3 with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (SATA mode) storage devices support
*M.2_2 is unsupported for these processors.
If i's running a Ryzen 7 2700x chip and a Vega 64 card, would I still not be able to use the M.2_2 slot specifically? Is this only not supported if I was using the cpu graphics and not a dedicated card, even though the card is Vega graphics? Any other info about this Vega graphics issue would be great too because I'm having trouble understand why that became a problem with the hardware compatibility. Thanks
