Question about memory marked as "for AMD"

I had just ordered all of the parts for my first PC and realized only after it had been shipped that it was "for AMD". The product in question is G.Skill Flare X 8x2, my mobo and processor are the MSI Z370 SLI PLUS ATX LGA1151 and the i7 8700k. Will this ram still work on my system? If it does, how will it effect performance?

It will work, but you may need to configure the memory manually rather than using the XMP profiles, as the profiles on those modules will have been specifically meant to work with the preferences of Ryzen chipsets, cpus and motherboards.

Personally, I'd recommend cancelling the memory and ordering Trident Z modules for that configuration.
