Hi there.. I recnetly built a computer for my girlfriend, simple machine using a Shuttle AK32A board and 1700 Athlon chip... The SRAM memory is generic memory from Tiger.. So what happened when I first built it and fired it up for the first time, I get beeps which indicate soemthing is wrong with the memory... I fidget the card (256 card) in one slot, in the other slot, keep reinstalling, finally it takes..
I moved it to my girlfriend's house, it worked fine for 2 hours and once again, beeps, I have to open up the machine and fidget with the card till the bios sees the memroy card again...
So, my question is, will getting better memory get rid of the problem?? This is bought from TigerDirect and it's one of their kits which I'm sure has the cheapest memory.. Also, would good DDR memory be preferable and work better than SDRAM memory, since you can configure the Ak32a board with either SDRAM or DDR?? Any info greatly appreciated, I'm still new at this stuff, so if there are obvious answers, the questions stem from ignorance..
Thanks...
