im wondering if this is still a powerful card, and if it will run games like crysis and Arma 2 at high quality? im running it with a i7 pushed to 4.0 Ghz, and 6 gigs of OCZ Plat 1600. Im thinking of maybe replacing it with a 4870 x2, or waiting until the 5 Series.

Advice please.

It really depends on the resolution.
Your 3870x2 has very similar, if slightly faster, performance compared to a single 4850 in games that support CrossFire.
That is unless you enable 4xAA or higher, then the 4850 will have an advantage.

You should be fine up to 1680x1050 and you can probably get bye at 1920x1200.
I would recommend waiting a few months for the next generation DX11 cards to come out before getting a new card.

As what outlw said, a single 4850 is beating a 3870x2. It might not make any sense 'upgrading' to a 4870x2 as the next gen single card might beat your 4870x2.

Then you will simply curl up in a corner and cry and we don't want that.

So your best bet is to wait until the next gen comes out with official benches and then make a decision. Another benefit is that the prices might come down on the 4800 series to get rid of stock.
