MB, Z68 or P67, Myself I prefer spending the little extra for the Z68 series.
I like the I dea of putting the system together and being able to test w/out a dedicated GPU. Everythig works right off no advantage, but it takes both heands to count the Nr. of "NO Video, or no Post" on the getgo. Using the IGP simplifies troubleshooting (1) eliminates the dedicated GPU and (2) Lower power required from the PSU. Then there are the other side benifits.

As to Pci-e 3.0, wintermint probably correct, but would be an unknown down stream say 2->3 yrs. So Your choice. I have the Z68 Extreme 4, Good board, but would have preferred the Gigabyte line, but they did not have a Z68 board out with the Hdmi out.

This is a p67 board, I want to future proof as much as I can, and it seems video cards come out more often then anything else. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the reply.

Thats a smart move with the IGP, I might look a bit more into that.

Will my video card (gtx 460) work with a pcie 3.0 slot?

Should be fine, The slots are normally always backwords compatable.
Simular to runnig a SATA II SSD in a SATA III port, it works fine, but you still only get the SATA II performance.

There are some other advantages to the Z68, such as SRT (using a small SSD to speed up a HDD - about 2x->4x) and improved video encoding. SRT could (Not will) improve game load & map Load slightly, the Video encoding will only help if you plan on doing video editing - While not gaming LOL.
