question about nvidia NVS

Why is the nvidia NVS 510 $300 when it has very inferior technology?

It's a workstation class video card and it and it's drivers have to pass a lot of test to get accreditation to work with specific software.

Ok so a gtx 970(both the same price) wouldnt be compatible with the software that the nvs is supposed to work with?
