Hello.

I am considering doing a SSD upgrade which requires me to perform a clean install of Windows on it. I am currently running Windows 7 with an OEM key.
I was just wondering if Windows 10 would activate if I were to install it on the SSD instead of Windows 7 as it is an OEM key and it is on a different drive.
I also have installed produkey which allowed me to get the actual license key I can input when it asks during the Windows 10 install (not too sure if this would work though).

Thanks.

If you have installed win 10 on the PC once before, you don't need the key

follow this guide: https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/how-to-do-a-clean-installation-of-windows-10.3170366/

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

Changing hdd isn't enough of a hardware change to deactivate licence. Its an expected update.

I've never had Windows 10 installed before. I currently have Windows 7 on my hdd. Does this matter?
