Greetings.
Here's my systerm :
Intel i5 3570k cpu clocked to 4.55 ghz.
Asus P8 z770v mobo
Corsair H60 cooler
16 gb Corsair Vengance Ram @ 1600
Corsair TX 750M psu
Lite On i424 dvd burner
Seagate barracuda hdd 500G.
Antec 302 case
Win 7 Pro 64 bit
My question is: when doing a burn in with Aida 64 benchmark , why does the cpu temp stay around 60c. when it shows the cores going up to 80 or 85 c briefly?

Solution
The cpu temp is the actual temp of the cpu and the cores are showing flashes of various temps from the stress testing that is taking place. The temp that you should be concerned with is the cpu temp. :sol:

Ok so if this is so, than I am well within spec? am I correct that the tdp is 105c and the wattage 77? I believe that I read somewhere that you should stay 20` below that 105 deg temp?

I would stay well below the thermal shutdown temp because as we all know the biggest enemy of the cpu is heat and the less heat the better.
Don't forget also that when doing any kind of stress testing the temps that you see from that will be the highest that you will see because the stress test will give your cpu a 100% load and under normal use it's hard to get to 100% load.
