TL;DR = I know a lot of this will be based on disk write speed/upload speed as well but if I want to stream/record video at 1080p would it be better for performance if the secondary screen for chat windows/websites to be at a lower resolution?
So I have a question that I've not been able to find a good answer to with searching the forums/Google.
My current computer is a bit of an older build and I would love to find some actual numbers as far as GPU usage goes. My computer has 12GB RAM (because my CPU heatsink fan blocks the 4th slot), an Intel i5 5370k, and a GTX 970. I've not overclocked anything at this point.
I would like to do a bit of streaming/recording from this computer and would like to run my second monitor when I do it for some basic things. I'm curious if there are any numbers on how the resolution of the second monitor affects performance. I've definitely been able to find threads that say it will affect performance and that depending on what is being done on that monitor that could be more or less but I've not seen any information on how much of an effect and if that performance change is affected by the resolution.
I know it is most likely a small change but I'm curious if there is any good research into this that I could read into.
