Question Question about RAM limit

I’m building a mini pc with i3 8100 on a H370 series board from ASUS. I already have my storage disks and one 8GB stick of DDR4-2666 Crucial from my previous build. However the board supports up to 2666Mhz but i3 8100 is up to 2400Mhz. It could be an issue? Can I use it? I don’t oc. I’m just curious about compatibility. Ram and disks are already included in MoBo’s QLV.

I don’t worry if the board downclock the ram.
