Just a question. I know there is not a huge difference in general use between different speeds of ddr4 RAM, but which would actually be faster; 2400 mhz with 14 latency, or 2666 mhz with 16 latency?

Solution

Sorry did not know it was deleted. I thought i did not hit the Answer button.

According to how memory manufactures measure overall speed (true latency = clock cycle time x number of clock cycles) 2600 MHz / 16 latency should be a tad faster.

As long as the memory controller is sophisticated enough to keep the memory bus busy, column latency is largely irrelevant. Modern memory controllers are pretty damn good, so data rate generally wins out.

2400 MHz 14 = 11.63ns
2600 MHz 16 = 12.00ns

I deleted your previous post because it was a non-answer.

OP Did not ask which DIMM had a quicker read response time, but rather which is faster overall.
