Hey well this guy paid me to reinstall windows 7 well something was wrong with the pc and kept on crashing when it loads to windows, even in safe mode. He wanted the data on his computer, so I tried doing a upgrade install but that didn't seem to work. Didn't install. I notice he had 2 partitions one was hp recovery or something so i reformatted that partition and installed win 7 on it. Every thing seemed fine, I checked the other partition and seemed like no data was lost. It showed 30 gig out of 150 or something, so data must be there. I checked program files and saw some programs and stuff. Next day he tells me that none of his data was there, and reformat the hard drive, but this time win 7 didnt install. It got stuck extracting or something an a error saying missing files or something. I even burnt him a different win7 cd on a different computer and still same, but later installed vista.

My question is, whos fault is it? was it my for doing a custom install in the other partition, or was the data really there and he just could not find it? I feel kind of bad for taking $20 and all these problems came up, but I did what I said I would do, getting windows working without lose of data, and to me seemed like no data should of been lost.
