My case only has one fan in it and it finally gave out. The fan was mounted at the front of the case, but I either can't or don't know how to remove it (likely the latter, it's a Xion 310 BK)

So, I thought about simply unplugging the fan and putting a new fan at the back of the computer.

My question is whether or not my PC would be okay with the fan at the back instead of the front? I'm really new when it comes to building PCs, and I'd appreciate any help.

Well, if it has an air filter in the front. You'd lose the benefits of filtration and less cleaning. If a HDD/SSD sits directly in front of it. They might be a few degrees warmer. If temps were okay with one fan in the front. They will likely be okay with one in the rear. If they are the same size and performance.

Aren't there any screws holding the fans? Without pictures there is no way to advise.

Only 1 way a fan connects to the frame. Either 4 screws or 4 rubber snaps. Some cases you have to remove the entire front cover to get at the screws, many aftermarket you don't, they are just behind the filter. The snaps do the same thing as the screws, but being rubber, some call them anti-vibration mounts.

Honestly you should have a fan at front and rear for decent airflow, helps lower temps in the case, which means the fans spin slower and quieter as does the one on the cpu cooler and any on the gpu.

Read your case manual.
It will show you how things are put together.
Your case supports a 120mm front intake fan and a 90mm rear exhaust fan.
A single 90mm exhaust is unlikely to be sufficient except for minimal low power parts.
You need to replace the 120mm front intake.
A 120mm fan sells for about $7.
It will likely be screwed into the case.
You likely will need to remove the front of the case to get at it.
