Question question about single or dual channel using 4 sticks

hello

i just bought 2 sticks of ram corsair vengeance LPX 2x8 3000mhz

i already have 16gb 2x8gb, everything works fine now

so i have 32gbs running in total

but running cpu-z says the follow:

on the tab memory/channel#/ it says: 2x64 bit

what it means?

i have 2 pictures of cpu-7 and the sticks on the motherboard

You can add 2 sticks extra in case they are fully identical, I did that to my system, FURY Beast 16gb 8x2, added extra 8x2 and all fine. Upon purchasing I made sure they all identical. (Although some people reported stability issue when using 4 dual channel sticks.)

So, about your rams, look at the back of the sticks, it says like ver. and stuffs, basically that indicates the modules inside those heatsinks. Are they similar? If not, you may run into some problem.

You may have a couple kit with single rank module, and another pair with dual rank, that will cause a mess.

If all rams are identical, then perhaps it's best for you to just reset your bios / cmos battery. BIOS today's easy to configure, so...
