question about skylake

Hello i am upgrading from my AMD to SkyLake but im abit worried as i am use to ddr3 ram and not ddr4 ram. can i get any ddr4 ram for my new motherboard and it will work or does the ram have to be in the compatablity list for it?

upgrading a processor should not have any affect with the RAM

but i am not just changing a processor i am moving to a new mobo as i am on AMD at the moment and im upgrading to skylake intel.

read the motherboard spec to see what ram it supported.
for skylake is ddr3L or ddr4

It says it supports ddr4. The motherboard is a MSI carbon pro z170A

Which cpu are you getting? the OC one work better with k series.
and get ddr4 ram with 1.2V

I am getting a Intel core i3-6100. As I was on a budget. Also I've picked some ram it is.
HyperX fury black series 4gb 2133MHz DDR4 CL14 I have two of these to make up 8gb.
