i brought myself another msi gtx 670 so i can do sli the other day as found one for cheap. ive never done sli before or crossfire! so im a noob when it comes to this before buying this i watched hand fulls of youtube vids to see how to do it and looked really simple i plugged both gpus in put on the bridge and power cables everything started up nothing wrong.
i jumped on a game and to my knowledge the gpu should be using 90/100% of the BOTH gpu's ??? instead the gpu's are using half of both is this right only i see no point in a 2nd gpu as im only using the power for 1 if adding them together or does it hold back power for if u need it (if u get me)

my system specs are
amd fx 8150 stock
ripjaw 16gb 2133 ram
ocz agility 3 240gb ssd
2 x msi gtx 670
ocz fatality 1 750w psu

cheers for replys

Solution

Yup, totally no problem. If they need to deliver more power they can as you just saw in the 3dmark. :)
Everything is working correct.

No, does not to be off. Depends on you if you want that. Vsync basically just caps the fps @60 so there is no unnecessary power being used to get like 200fps if your monitor can only display 60 fps (60Hz screen).
If you have a 120/144Hz screen you always want to...

If both GPUs only need to run @50% load and you dont get any laggs then it's fine. Maybe you have V-sync on and already hit 60fps with just half load on both GPUs.

You could try to run very GPU heavy games (newer stuff @high settings) or some benchmarks like Unique Heaven. (it's free)

Both GPUs should be under heavy load while running these.

just ran 3dmark 11 and yeah they both max out at 99%. so just to get my head round this they still doing there job right when at half load? i dont have a problem? and there working correct. also with the vsync would that need to be off in game and in nvidia control panel? or would turning it off in game turn it off from nvidia control?

If you have a 120/144Hz screen you always want to disable Vsync. Otherwise just leave it on. I have it on all the time too. Some people seem to have problems with Vsync on like stuttering and other small problems but if you dont get these problems just leav it on.
And only turn it on/off in games. Only turn it off in the controlpanel if you have a 120Hz+ monitor. :)
