Hey guys, just built a new PC with the z390 Maximus xi. I also have an H100i Pro XT cooler.

I want to replace the 2 120mm fans on the cooler with some good RGB ones. I went ahead and bought this: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-co-9050094-ww-case-fan/p/N82E16835181182?Item=N82E16835181182

Would this work with my board? I see that it's only 3 pins fans. Does that mean I won't be able to control the fan speed?

Also, I don't have a commander pro. Does that matter?

Thanks for the help!

Solution
1)Yes.
2)Yes. The fans will run at full speed.
3)No.

Not a good idea to completely replace the stock fans with those. Those fans are weaker than the stock ones and will have trouble moving air through the rad.

There really aren't any really good rgb/argb fans. The motor housing is only 'so' big, so in order to stuff the lighting controls in there, something has to give and it's usually motor performance. There's also changes to fan blade composition in order to make the fan more lighting susceptible, which affects performance.

There's a reason you don't see Noctua RGB/ARGB.
