I am considering switching from an AMD FX 8320 with a MSI 990FXA-GD80V2 Mobo to an Intel i5 4670k with an ASROCK Z77 Extreme4.

If i purchased a
Sandisk 32gb Readycache SSD, reinstalled windows 7 on it with the new hardware, and had my current SSD plugged in without boot priority, would I be fine? Or would I need to format my current SSD that has windows?

I am new to this and could use some advice! Thanks!

Solution
As long as the current SSD is not set as the primary in the BIOS and not connected to the SATA 0 port and you configure the new SSD to be primary (this is usually jumpers or is set automatically to cable select) and connect it to SATA 0 port and set it in the bios you'll be fine

I believe you might want to go with Z88 platform since 4670k is socket 1150 not 1155 as the Z77 boards.
