Question about system resources while using multiple displays

First off, I apologize if this is not the appropriate section to post in, but I wasn't quite sure which section this would be best suited for, so I used my best judgement and chose here.

I have a 24" 1080p Dell monitor as my primary monitor, and I have a 42" 1080p Samsung tv connected as well. Generally, I use the samsung in extended display mode. The way I have my desk set up, the samsung tv is positioned so that anyone sitting on the couch in the room has as a good view of the samsung display. I have attached a photo below to give you an idea of the setup.

My question is, how exactly does using a second monitor in "duplicated" display mode affect system resources? For example, if I set the samsung to duplicate my dell screen, is this using double the resources?

I am asking this because I would like to set the samsung to duplicate my dell when playing games, such as Rocket League, so that my friends sitting on the couch can watch easily on the samsung display. The way I have my desk set up, it would be hard for me to just use the samsung as my primary display (I like using k&m, I'm not a fan of using a controller or console gaming).

So, would "duplicating" the game to display on both screen require twice the resources? Or is that not how it works? I am sure that it does require additional system resources to duplicate, i'm just not sure of how heavy of additional resources it requires. I do realize that I can just test it out and see, which I will do, but I am still curious to know how exactly it works.

Any insight is greatly appreciated! 🙂
