Hey guys!
Currently I got a Hyper 212 Evo but would like to get a better cooler.
The Noctua NH-D15 sounds like a great choice, but there's one possible problem: my 212 just barely fits my Thermaltake. I can close the side alright, but those "copper thingies" (don't know their name lol) almost touch the side of the tower.

The NH-D15 height is 165mm, while my Hyper 212 stands at 159mm.

Will these 6mm be a problem? Are the copper thingies taken in consideration when the size of a cooler is measured?

I know 6mm is barely a thing, but if I buy the cooler there won't be turning back

UPDATE: added (really bad) photos.

You have the case and, presumably, access to a tape measure. 6mm is about 0.236 inches. So you can measure the distance or take something of the same thickness, lie your case on its side put the item (say pair of tapered wood shims, which you can slide back and forth to set thickness) amd [pit the side penel on to see if it interferes.

Of course the other way, as other posters have mentioned, you can go to your case manufacturer's web site, and if it is a decent case, they will list available cooler height.

Hot Specs tan / Full Specs and you see a table of "Clearances for Cooler, GPU, PSU ... the cooler limit is 194mm in this case

Did you look at their web site ? After all that's all we can do for ya

CPU cooler height limitation: 155mm

Given the available information, you fit 159mm into 155mm space ... so something is "off", seems like you will have to measure

The Thermaltake's website states that it can hold coolers upto 155 millimeters so you can consider what you have right now to be the limit already. I think you're going to be better off with a different cooler.

155 meters! That would be the world's widest case! I know you meant millimeters.
