This might be a bit rambly, but I'll try to explain the best I can. I took my old Hyper Evo 212 off today because the fan was acting up. Once I took it off I realized that I didn't have any thermal paste handy. So this is going to sound really dumb, I know, but I used a stock cooler I had laying around, stuck it to the CPU (after cleaning the old dry paste off, it had been on there for a few years) and let it get some thermal paste (from the pre-applied layer stock coolers have) on there. I know this isn't a solution at all, but I needed SOMETHING, and I figured some thermal paste on there would be better than nothing (as long as it isn't too thick, right? It isn't btw) so after that I cleaned the old thermal paste off my Hyper Evo and stuck it back on the CPU. It stuck a TINY bit, but not much, but that's probably better than nothing.
Now before I ask my question, here are my temps
Example of the temps under a bit of load
I am pretty sure it is okay to use my CPU like this, right? Do you think it's okay to use my PC until I can get some thermal paste (probably in a week) and apply a good coating to it?
TL;DR I won't be getting thermal paste until a week, is it okay to use my PC until then considering how low my temps are? I don't think no thermal paste will damage my CPU as long as the temps stay low, yeah?
