Okay currently i have HyperX kit of 2x2GB dual channel sticks. My MOBO has 4 slots, two marked black and two marked yellow. I Have two sticks in the same colored slots.
Now the time has come and its time to upgrade. Im most likely getting a Mushkin 2x2GB dual channel kit to add to this set. The mushkin rams are gonna go in the other color of slots (lets say yellow).

Now, im not sure how this works, but i was reading and watching a lot about dual channels and there is some talks about possible malfunction if you have two different sets of kits? Is my setup gonna work? They're all DDR2, 1066MHz.

Thanks

Apparently if they have the same voltage plus they're all DDR2, they shouldn't work with difficulties but they will work with the lowest speed?

I dunno, buying a 8gb set is quite expensive, i can afford a 4gb used set.

The sticks were sold before i made my decision. The CAS latencies on the rams were the same (5 cycles), so were timings but the voltage was off. 2.1-2.2 on Mushkin, 2.3 on Kingston.

Better look at the same rams. Or more similar ones from another brand.

I've been looking around and its really hard to find HyperX that i have . I've been looking and either they're way too expensive or they're just not being sold.

I got my eye on another set of ram kit, this time Gskill the problem being that they're like Mushkin ones from before, they run on a bit lower voltage, CAS and timings are the same.

Bottom line, its really really hard to go with the same ones, ill probably have to mix.
