Hey guys, currently I have a i7 4790 non k, 32 gb ram, and a rx 480 playing on a 1080p 144 hz 1 ms free sync monitor with vsr enabled at 1440p. My question is that I'm considering getting a 2k monitor and was actually pretty happy with the frame rates I'm getting with the settings I'm using. Are these the frame rates I can expect if I upgrade to a 144 hz 1ms free sync 1440p monitor? I'm assuming the graphic quality will just get better. Am I correct in thinking this? Thank for all the help guys

The higher the resolution the harder the card has to work. At 1440p the RX480 will suffer the card was not made for those settings.

Yes, I understand that the performance will not be as good at 1440p, but my question is, that I'm currently running games at 1440p with VSR on a 1080p monitor and I'm getting performance, FPS wise, that I am satisfied with; would outright getting a 1440p monitor yeild me the same FPS results? thanks ssorry for the convoluted question

No that's a emulated virtual resolution
