question about windows 10 activation ?

one of my school friend is buying a laptop and he wants original windows 10 pro with genuine license in his laptop i downloaded windows 10 image creation tool and then got windows 10 pro 64 bit and then later on we plan to buy an original key from microsoft itself can windows 10 be booted with no key and then later an original key been added to it will it be a good activation

Yes. Just make sure you select "Pro" during the installation and select "I don't have a key" when prompted.

What OS does the laptop come with? (if any), and any particular 'need' for Pro?
Seems like a waste of the $100+ for Pro in most cases.

No performance difference over Home.

If it's ever going to be used in any professional environment (BYoD school / work) - Pro is $100 very well spent as just being able to attach to a domain and receive GPO is a massive benefit.

If only a home / guest on a bigger network machine then yes non-pro is ok.

i opted for pro as my friends wife is an architect and she would be working on autocad 2017 with this new laptop

Which will work just fine on the less expensive Win 10 Home.
