Question about wireless internet

The twc technician put the settings for 2.4 and 5 ghz wireless networking.

My mother uses a tablet and doesn't use it much at all, and I want to make sure I get the fastest speeds possible.

I'm curious if I should turn off the 2.4 or the 5 ghz, so I don't lose much bandwidth when I'm gaming.

She probably uses her tablet maybe 45 minutes a day, and doesn't even look at video's or anything.

Should I turn off the 2.4 or the 5 ghz or leave them both on and not worry about it?

I have TWC 30 up / 5 down MB speeds.

Honestly, it won't matter if they are both on, only how much total bandwidth is being used at one time from your devices connected to it.

Depending on your location one of those may actually end up being worse for wifi gaming if there are other wifi networks (or other wireless networks) causing interference. The best thing to say is to try a speedtest.net test with your system connected each way to the networks and see what speeds you get.

gaming only uses maybe 1m of bandwidth it is designed so people with slow connections can spend their money on the game too. Having more than the amount the game needs does not make it any faster it will just not be used.

If you are playing your game on wireless the table to a point can interfere......but so can all your neighbors computers talking to their routers. Turning off a radio makes no difference unless the tablet only runs on say 2.4g and you plan to completely block it but turning off its ability to connect.

You should not play games on wireless the connection speed is very fast but it is unstable. Game do not tolerate unstable and in most cases it is signals coming from outside your house causing the issue so it can't be fixed.
