Is it possible to download pictures from a Canon A75 directly to a flash
drive? My daughter is going to be traveling overseas and I wanted a way for
her to download pictures from her camera to a flash drive?

Is this possible without an OS?

Thanks

USB needs an OS to run on. Unless you have a device specifically enabled for
this, then the answer is no. There do exist a few devices than can dload the
pictures from a card, butnot straight from a camera.

No, even a device designed to download and store digital images has some
kind of OS.
It is possible without Windows or Linux or Mac. It can be a proprietary
operating system.

There are devices for downloading from the camera and then storing digital
images on a portable device.

The best portable device is a notebook computer. Large hard drive and
built-in USB. You can get international power adapter/chargers for
notebooks.

Check out Image Storage Devices on this page of Staves Digicams.com. Warning
some of the manufacturers are out of business.

There was Mindstor Digital Wallet, but they are out of business. The

You may find one on Ebay.

I believe the Delkin USB Bridge will do that. Google it.
