I would like to overclock my FX-8320 to 4.0 GHz and I am just wondering if the stock cooler would be able to keep the overclocked 8320 at acceptable temperatures while playing intensive games.
They are the same CPU, but they are of different quality. The short version is that the chips branded as 8350 "scored higher in the CPU tests".
The chips branded as 8320 scored lower.
The 8350 can run at 4.0ghz on the same cooler because it is better chip.
I could only get my 8320 up to 3.7-3.8Ghz before the thermals got too high on the stock cooler.
Definitely not. The stock cooler is straight up garbage. You should buy an aftermarket cooler if you are considering in even the mildest overclock. The Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO is great. The TX3 is also pretty good for it's very affordable price.
