Any questions let me know.

Oh, and my price range is $300.00 to $400.00...

I want to game at max resolution as I'm selling my PC soon on Craigslist for 800.00 and from their i'll purchase 2 grand worth of new components. But, my current monitor is @ 1680 x 1050.

Please help me choose a good Monitor. No preference really, newegg,

You could probably go minimum 1920x1200 on any game (maybe minus AA on some), 24"+ would be good imo. Can't really say anything specific on brands a models, but that may help a little bit if any.

i would go 22" and save some bucks up for running a 22"X3 setup if you are so keen.
if you wanna go single monitor...then go 24" ish or more.

I game on my 40" bravia, gets me right in the mood :)

Jamespcguy, I'm selling the computer above for 800 minus the video card. I will be selling the above computer with 2 GTX8800 SLI instead of the HD5870. Z: Chunky, why buy that monitor?

dude first its not about you [:tapko] he wants the " BEST gaming monitor for hes PC? "
not a CHEAP-O
second hes current monitor is @ 1680 x 1050. he wants to upgrade it not get the same :sarcastic:
3rd. hes got a ati 5870 he can get a GOOD 24"1900x1200 or this 1 a 27' 2048 x 1152 ( ) res monitor in hes price range which if you read was $300-$400
[:tapko:1] [:tapko:1]

PS According to they said that 22 inch Asus monitor has only average image quality
There is a reason why it is a SIX time Customer Choice winner on Newegg. HUGE viewable area (27.5 inches!), big bright TFT panel, 3ms response time, 1900x1200 resolution. And, it comes with all the cables you need regardless of whether you're gpu is HDMI, DVI, or VGA. You will be hard pressed to find a similiar performing LCD of the same size for $300+/-.

With a 5870, you will have no issues playing any and all games at 1900x1200 with the eye candy, and this monitor will have no problem making sure that you see all the frag action in vivid color without blurring or ghosting.

I will admit I own the Hanns-G 281DPB, but that is the reason I recommend it. I will also admit that the built in speakers suck!

The only other monitor of about the same size and available from Newegg that I would recommend is the Acer B273HU. Albeit the Acer is $429 but it offers 2048x1152 resolution with only a 5ms response rate. So, for about $120 more than the Hanns-G you get about the same viewable area, a step up in resolution, and a comparable refresh rate.

Whether the Hanns-G or the Acer, I can't imagine that you would be disappointed. Regardless of whatever monitor you buy, good luck! Post back with what you decide to purchase.
