I remember reading in these forums that the hitachi CML174B uses interpolation to achieve 24/32 bit color. Does the Planar PX171M also use interpolation? I assume that it does since both models use the same screen from AU optronics; but verification would be great.

The AU Optronics 16ms panel is a 256K color panel. I have asked Planar however they either do not know or will not tell me. They claim 16.7M color so they must be using a technique like FRC to create the balance of colors.

GoSharks it seems that there is some confusion on the Samsung 192T in this forum. Do you know what the response time is going to be on the new model? Some are saying 25ms and others are saying 17ms. I would be surprised if they kept it at 25ms. Thanks in advance.

No I do not know for certain. What I do know is that I have not heard any panel manufactuer including Samsung announce a 19inch 17ms panel. It would not surprize me if it was 25ms. Look for the tell tale sign of an issue "if they use the word TYPICAL in the spec.
