Question Question for streaming?

Ive always wanted to stream games but im always held back by lag spikes in game. I play/stream on a wireless connection with 180mbps download 11mbps upload, yet I still get lag spikes and lag nonstop after about an hour. Would going to a wired connection (which im planning on) boost internet speeds and get rid of the lag?
My specs: RTX 2080 i7 8700k 16gb ram
Im trying to stream games like Fortnite, and eventually Modern Warfare 4 when it releases.

Going to a wired connection might not boost internet speed (by much), but it would improve the quality of the stream. A wired connection will always have a lower ping--the amount of time it takes for two computers to talk to one another--than a wireless connection.

A wired connection is also a lot more stable, as there is less/no "dropped" information across the connection.

Edit: For clarity: yes, moving to a wired connection would help with lag.
