Question for the New York City computer engineers

Where do you purchase your supplies? Although I'm not a engineering major I would still like to know. I honestly don't even know where to get a soldering gun.

I'm not in NYC (although I was there a few days ago) but the best places to buy engineering hobby stuff is online.

Digikey is great for commodities and components

Avnet is great for more advanced components, especially radio stuff

Test Equipment Depot is great for test and measurement equipment
