hello vic,

why is the ILS feather(heading 120º) off 30º of runway heading 150º at
aspin,colorado KASE.

is the procedure to follow localizer till the end? then make left base for
runway 33 ?

The chart availability at http://www.myairplane.com gives me the impression
that the I-PKN localizer is intended for departure and missed approach
navagation (using backcourse procedures). I don't see any indication in the
FS 2004 GPS procedures of other uses of the localizer. Apparent intention is
from 14000 ft decsend on 165 radial outbound from Red Table (DBL 113.00 MHz)
VOR past CFEJP (3nm DME at 13100) ALLIX 6nm DME at 12200) and MAFMU (11nm
DME) intersections. Missed approach backcourse (300 108.5Mhz) from PKN loc
if field not in sight by time DME reads 9.5nm at 10800. Procedure is
apparently limited to daylight use.

robert,

thanks for the reply.
cool web site, and i read the 'read before' section.
while making flight plans, i noticed that feather was offset more than any
other feather i had seen in the past ,in the map view. i thought that was
kinda strange.
looks like i will have to add some weather and give it a go.
the one thing i really enjoy from these flight sims,is that i still learn
something new everyday 🙂

Hi me -

Robert pointed you in the right direction. It's mainly there to keep you
away from the terrain. The info on the website should give you a good
headsup. A fun approach to fly, especially in a higher performance a/c. Try
it in the 182, the Lear and the Beech turbo. Then dial in weather minimums
and try again. That should keep you busy for a while!

Enjoy,

Vic
