Question Question G-Sync 144hz display

Hello everyone,

Currently i own a FreeSync monitor (Optix mag241c), which i can't use i got a 1080 ti.

My problem/question is:
below 120 fps my frames feel TERRIBLE literally unplayable, if i buy a gsync monitor will 110 FPS actually feel smooth? because right now thats not the case.

I think there is something else going on with it.

I was using a ASUS VG245H 24"... That's 1080P 75Hz with an HDMI connection with a GTX 1080Ti AND RTX 2080Ti with zero issues in gaming.

That's 2 different machines, 8700K machine and 9900K machine.

Had to use it for awhile with the 2080Ti/9900K machine while my other ACER 1440P monitor was getting fixed.

I use a free sync monitor 240 hz and g sync works fine for me even though its not "compatible with g sync" so just turn enabling g sync in nvidia control panel and see how you get on👍

But i dont care about freesync compatible with gsync, i just need to know if i buy a new G-Sync monitor if 110 fps will feel smooth, cause on the optix mag241c it doesn't.

Smooth playback is very subjective and depends on the person, hardware and use case. You'll have to try it and find out for yourself. Just make sure you configure a frame limiter in your game if the FPS exceeds your monitors refresh rate or GSYNC will disable.

I bought the acer predator XB241H, 24 inch 144 hz, should i cap my fps at 141 for Fortnite to enjoy gsync?

Yeah try it. I set mine to 96fps on my 100hz ultra wide because I was experiencing screen tearing and it worked. You can try it with vsync enabled and disabled. Gsync defaults if vsync is enabled.

No, don't cap the FPS, just turn on GSYNC and LEAVE IT ALONE it will be fine. G-SYNC should turn on automatically, but check and make sure it's on.

Leave VSYNC OFF.
