I've been researching about how HDD Attributes really worked but different sites gives different explanations, so in safe bet i've decided to ask questions in toms hardware regarding to Attribute reading tutorial or explanation so i could use it in future use.

note: apologies i'm really not well informed or knowledgeable about hard drives.

So here is the question; Why the Current Value and the Threshold are near equal but the Raw Value itself is all in Zero's? does that means the software i'm using isn't reliable giving attribute information or the hard drive itself is giving false information?!

For images "this is taken directly from facebook images"

From this image the spin retry count and end to end error Current value is near equal to threshold but the Raw value itself is all in zero's

in my knowledge if the Current value and threshold is Equal or the Threshold is more than Current value the hard drive is going to fail.
i this true or not?!

i apologies for such questions might be branded as theorists in some point xD but since were here i would like to ask if the hard drive attribute is having a Healthy hard drive or Failing Hard drive.

Solution
ZERO value for the above mentioned areas are good.

I personally look at REAL Values since the RAW values are in HEX and, therefore, some of the counters don't make sense.
What is the make and model of the drive?

Personally I like to use the free version of Speccy to look at the SMART values because it has a Real Value column. Should you decide install Speccy, provide a screenshot of the SMART values.

Don't concern yourself with the Current and Threshold values but rather look at the RAW value.

Having the following RAW counts at ZERO is a good thing:

Reallocated Sectors Count
Spin Retry Count
End to End Error
Reported Uncorrectable Errors
Current Pending Sector Count
Uncorrectable Sector Count

To me it looks like a healthy drive.

The Hard Drive Manufacturer is Seagate and model is ST3250318AS 250.0GB HDD

Speccy hmm... i'm currently using Crystal Disk and Hard Disk Sentinel, i've tried the Speccy once before i would try it again and give the results,,,
here are the S.M.A.R.T Attribute Screenshot of Speccy...

I see so mostly the Current, Threshold, Worse Values isn't reliable concern?!...
but Raw values itself is the most reliable one...

If the Raw Values is in ZERO it means it's in green status.
but if the Raw value had some random text and numbers does that concerns more?!
also were going inside the main problem in reading attributes is the Raw Value, yes it's at Random text and numbers in each cells
but how can i read such? since i've only know that the ZERO Raw value is a good thing...

i really apologies for such question and troubles i've caused xD i'm just eager to learn anything about hard drives..

Whoops xD i miss clicked the best answer... but no worries...

Does the Real Values represents how real the Threshold value is or something else?!...
hmm... also what do you mean about the counters that doesnt make sense?! o.o....

Most of the RAW and REAL values displayed are based of counters. The firmware is keeping track of errors, temperature, and time values.

If you look at the RAW value for the Read Error Rate it is huge and it would be scary if that would be the Real value.

So basically... The Hard Drive is going to fail soon?! or just the REAL value isn't giving the right information about the RAW value itself?! o.o..................

Thank you very much providing me information how Hard Drive attribute works...
it really helps me alot and i was able to understand when i did more a little research...
apologies hoping i could give you some credits in return for such question of mine... xD

Thank you very much! ~
