I asked about profitability when mining with GPUs.

Given a residential electricity cost of $0.12/kWh, and a purchase price for the 4090 at $2300 each....

You'd recover your investment sometime in January, 2047.

My above was based on paying cash for the GPUs.

Given interest on a loan to do it, your ROI is exactly never.

Those GPUs 'earn' $2.73 per day. Or about $1000/year.

Electricity costs me the equivalent of US $0.32 per unit, plus a Standing Charge fee of US $0.78 each day, just for the privilege of having mains in my home.

RTX4090s on Amazon seem to average around the equivalent of US $3200. I could buy a car for $32,000 instead of ten GPUs.

No wonder I don't mine BitCoin, even with the price peaking around $102,000. If BitCoin reaches $1,000,000, I might change my mind.

Perhaps I should emigrate or build a combined solar/wind farm?
