I've just put together a new system. Was having trouble with an Older OS installation, and decided to check base mem size for possible boot sect virus. Booted to Win95 diskette and ran chkdsk, which showed base mem = 654,336.. Exactly 1,024 less than I am used to seeing. Have done a lot of checking, flashing BIOS back to older BIOS from write protected boot and flash floppies, and still have same 1k missing from base mem. A search on the internet gave me info, and a note that some Mobos/BIOS use a 1k block of base mem. My Mobo is a BioStar TF7050-M2. Anybody out there know about this situation..?? I really don't think I have a boot sector Virus.

Come on No takers. No one remembers using chkdsk to check for a Boot sector virus, which will decrease your base 655,360 bytes(640K) of memory by either 1 or 2 kilobytes..??
